Saturday 28th, Day Two
In the 21 century, human civilization is seriously planning the colonization of Mars. But nobody has still invented a better way of attaching a start number to the runners T shirt than … a safety pin.
So if every athlete has one number with four corners at the front, second on their back and the third for their backpacks, it makes TWELVE safety pins altogether.
What is Oom Jan blabbering about, you think? Did he go crazy from that Prague heat?
No, its two days to the Open European Championships of the Athletes with Down Syndrome in Prague 2025, and we prepare packages for all eleven teams.

With booklets, T shirts, mascots (Czech 160 national Lions named Simba) and the start numbers with flags, names and … proper number of safety pins to use for the sport event.
It is OK with Great Britain with one athlete, but if you have 11 Turks, 14 Mexicans and 17 athletes from the Czechia, it means multiplying 17 by 12. Meticulous business of counting those prickly little punks one by one. So todays message is:
Preparing the Open European Championships 2025 is not just fancy hotels, beautiful lawn and double espresso.
It is hard work - ouch! - but worth it. The rest of the teams arrive tomorrow and we will be ready to serve.
